Effective date: October 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Better Call Spencer LLC (“Better Call Spencer,” “I,” “me,” or “we”) collects when you visit bettercallspencer.com (the “Site”), how I use it, and the choices you have. The Site is operated from Houston, Texas, and is intended for users in the United States. Privacy questions and requests go to privacy@bettercallspencer.com.
The short version: I collect the information you choose to give me through forms and scheduling, plus the standard analytics data most websites collect. I use it to respond to you, send the newsletter if you asked for it, and understand how the Site is used. I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it with anyone except the service providers that run the Site.
Information you give me
- Contact and intake forms. Name, role, firm name, firm website, email address, phone number, number of offices, approximate marketing spend, the services you are interested in, and anything you type into the message field.
- Newsletter signup. First name, email address, and optionally your firm name and role.
- Scheduling. When you book a call through the embedded Calendly widget, Calendly collects your name, email address, and the time you chose, and shares it with me. Calendly’s own privacy policy applies to that collection.
- Email and direct contact. Anything you include when you email me or message me on LinkedIn or X.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. I use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand which pages people visit, how they got there, how long they stay, and what devices and browsers they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect your IP address and a pseudonymous identifier. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Spam protection. Forms on the Site are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which collects hardware and software information such as device and application data and sends it to Google for analysis. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Server logs. My hosting provider, WP Engine, automatically records standard log data such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps for security and performance purposes.
- Cookies. The Site uses a small number of cookies for analytics and for remembering form state. It does not use advertising or retargeting cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site will still work, although some features may behave differently.
How I use your information
- To reply to your inquiry and, if you ask, to schedule and hold a call with you.
- To send you the newsletter, if you subscribed. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link.
- To evaluate whether your firm is a fit for the services described on the Site.
- To understand how the Site is used and improve its content and performance.
- To protect the Site against spam, abuse, and security threats.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce the Site’s Terms of Use.
I do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
How I share your information
I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and I do not share it with other businesses for their own marketing. I share it only in these situations:
- Service providers. Companies that help run the Site and my business, including WP Engine (hosting), Google (analytics, reCAPTCHA, and email), Calendly (scheduling), and the email platform used to send the newsletter. They may process your information only to provide their service to me.
- Legal requirements. If required by subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Better Call Spencer, its clients, or others.
- Business transfers. If the business is sold or merged, your information may be transferred to the new owner, who will be bound by this policy until it is updated.
Email marketing
If you subscribe to the newsletter, I will email you roughly once a week. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any issue or by emailing privacy@bettercallspencer.com. I comply with the CAN-SPAM Act: every message identifies the sender, includes a valid physical address, and honors opt-out requests promptly. Submitting a contact form does not subscribe you to the newsletter.
How long I keep information
Form submissions and emails are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and maintain a record of our communications, generally no longer than three years after the last contact unless we enter into an engagement. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings, currently 14 months for user-level data.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, hosted on infrastructure with managed security and backups, and protected by access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security, but I take reasonable steps to protect the information I hold.
Your choices and rights
You can ask me, at any time, to tell you what personal information I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email privacy@bettercallspencer.com with your request and I will respond within 30 days. I may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Residents of certain states, including California, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and others with comprehensive privacy laws, may have additional rights, such as the right to know what categories of information are collected, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Better Call Spencer does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under those laws. To exercise any right available to you, email privacy@bettercallspencer.com.
Do Not Track: the Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no common standard for them.
Children
The Site is a business-to-business site intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the Site, contact me and I will delete it.
Third-party sites
The Site links to other websites and embeds third-party tools. This policy applies only to bettercallspencer.com. Once you leave the Site or interact with an embedded service, that service’s privacy policy governs.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy as the Site or the law changes. The effective date at the top will be updated when I do, and material changes will be noted on this page. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
